Converters
Short paths from capture formats to printable mesh previews. Mesh PLY, point-only scans, and Gaussian splats each get a dedicated converter.PLY to STL Convert mesh PLY files that already have faces into printable STL or 3MF. If the file is points-only or a Gaussian splat, Obloid routes it instead of doing a dumb format swap. Open converter 3DGS to STL Upload Gaussian splat files or zipped streamed SOG folders. Obloid builds a voxel mesh proxy in the browser so you can export STL or 3MF for slicer cleanup — not a game-engine OBJ dump. Open converter Point Cloud to STL Inspect point-only PLY scans from tools like Scaniverse or CloudCompare as a colored point preview. Printable STL needs triangles, so mesh PLY and splat files are sent to their own converters. Open converter
Which converter should I use?
Which Obloid converter should I use for my scan?
Mesh PLY files with faces use PLY to STL. Point-only Scaniverse or CloudCompare PLY files use Point Cloud to STL. 3DGS, SOG, SPLAT, SPZ, and Gaussian splat PLY files use Gaussian Splat to STL.
Do converter files leave my computer?
Preview and meshing run in the browser. Signing in unlocks the download allowance; Obloid does not need the model stored on a server to convert it.
Can I export STL and 3MF from these converters?
Mesh PLY and Gaussian splat results export STL, generic 3MF, Bambu/Orca 3MF, or GLB. Point-only files need a triangle mesh or splat voxel path before a true STL download.
How many free converter downloads do I get?
Free accounts get 1 download per converter. Plus and Pro unlock unlimited exports. Preview and conversion still run in the browser; signing in only spends the export allowance.
